David Coale Featured in Texas Lawbook on SCOTX Ruling and Coronavirus Litigation

LPCH partner, David Coale, compares the ruling of the recent case Hillis v. McCall to future cases concerning coronavirus exposure. The ruling was informed by the ferae naturae doctrine, which claims wild animals are unpredictable and that there are no expectations on a landowner regarding wild animals in their natural habitat.  

Coale mentions, “In addressing McCall’s spider bite, the court’s opinion sets legal rules that will likely control future cases involving novel coronavirus exposure.”
