In a 7-2 ruling, the U.S. Supreme Court says President Trump must allow a Manhattan prosecutor access to the president’s financial records in an investigation involving money paid to women to keep quiet about his affairs. Separately, the Supreme Court denied Congress access to the president’s records for now. The firm’s David Coale, who leads the appellate practice, provides perspective on the ruling to KDFW Fox 4. “The president wanted to shut both of these inquiries down today and they are both still going. If that is the criteria for victory, the president lost. If it was to kick it past November, the president won.”
